Your radiotherapy experience

Bringing your relatives and friends

Having a friend or relative with you during your treatment can provide a great deal of comfort and support. We understand just how important this is, and welcome you to have someone with you wherever possible.

For their safety and yours we may need to limit which elements of your treatment they can stay with you during. For example, they may not be able to enter the radiotherapy treatment room with you, but you will still have the reassurance of knowing they are close by. Your care team will decide with you what is best for you and your treatment plan.

To maintain a safe and positive environment for everybody, we ask that you bring no more than two companions on any visit to the centre, and that all children are accompanied by an adult. We have special advice for children visiting the centre, so please let us know before bringing any children under 12 with you.
