Where to get support

There is a great deal of information and support available to help you and those close to you cope with the news that you have cancer, to understand what is involved during treatment, and to help you though the process. In fact it can sometimes seem overwhelming. It might be worth asking a health professional or one of your care team to make it clearer for you.

Your care team will want to get to know you so they can best help and support you through your journey to better health. They will become an important part of your support network throughout your treatment.

Your friends and family will of course want to provide support, but they may need some help themselves in order to do this.

There are many sources of support available to you and your family, be it physical, emotional or spiritual. It is up to you what you make use of. You may find there are certain times when you need more and different types of support.
