Chief Executive - Rupert Cockcroft
Rupert Cockcroft has been a Senior Healthcare Executive for fifteen years with a particular interest in cancer provision. From 1990 – 2001 Rupert worked for Capio, Aspen, The London Clinic and Priory hospitals. And from 2001 – 2006 he was Chief Executive of The Harley Street Clinic (encompassing the Harley Street Cancer Centre) and was also responsible for cancer services across all HCA sites in London.
Chairman - Doctor Arthur Porter
Arthur brings a unique blend of medical practice and business experience to Cancer Partners UK®. Graduating from the University of Cambridge he carried out postgraduate studies in Radiotherapy in Canada to become Chief of Radiation Oncology at the London Regional Cancer Centre, Ontario. He then became CEO to the Detroit Medical Centre and has subsequently become Director General and CEO of McGill University Health Centre, Montreal, Quebec.
Medical Director - Professor Karol Sikora
Professor Karol Sikora is a leading cancer specialist. He was Clinical Director of Cancer Services at Hammersmith Hospital for 12 years. Professor Sikora was seconded as Chief of the WHO Cancer Programme for two years.
Finance Director - Lorraine Lander
Lorraine has 15 years of experience within the private healthcare sector working for BMI Healthcare, St Martins and HCA in senior finance roles.
Non-executive Director - David Porter
David has over 30 years of experience in private equity and investment banking. He has in-depth experience investing in, and advising on, a wide range of companies. Prior to co-founding Apposite in 2006, David worked on a number of large LBOs with Nomura's Principal Finance Group, including Angel Train Contracts and Married Quarters Estate (now Annington Homes). He then founded and headed Nomura International's healthcare investment and corporate finance groups where he generated consistently high Life Sciences returns. He has been CEO of a number of companies, including an authorised bank. David is very involved in the UK healthcare industry, having served as a member of the UK government’s Health Reform Group looking at reforms to the provision of healthcare to NHS patients and was Chairman of the Audit Committee and Board Member of the UK BioIndustry Association for four years. David has a degree in Chemistry from Oxford University.
Non-executive Director - Steve Adkin
Steve is responsible for Apposite's Healthcare Services investments. A founding member of Apposite, Steve was previously co-head of healthcare corporate finance at Nomura International, where he led a wide range of M&A deals and financings for emerging healthcare companies between 1998 and 2005. Prior to this, he was a consultant at ZS Associates, a leading pharmaceutical consultancy firm, where he worked with most of the world's leading groups on a range of sales and marketing projects across Europe and the US. Before joining ZS Associates, he worked as an analyst in the aerospace industry. Steve has a masters degree in Engineering, Economics and Management from Oxford University.
Non-executive Director - Alan Pilgrim
Alan has over 30 years experience in the provision of healthcare services. His most recent roles were as CEO of Community Hospitals Group plc (now part of Ramsey Healthcare), the healthcare staffing company Match Group plc and Alliance Medical, Europe's largest medical imaging company. He is currently Chairman of Synexus Ltd. which undertakes clinical trials through an international network of clinics which it owns and operates.
Non-executive Director - Peter Willats
Peter Willats is an experienced industrial manger, consultant and investor. Previously on the Board of GKN Automotive, he spent 15 years as the Director of the Manufacturing Practice at McKinsey & Co, working in Europe, US, China and Russia. Peter was a Partner at KPMG in Berlin before concentrating on private investments in Germany and California.
